Pathfinder is a project that I and some fellow students, Aleksandrs Strogonovs, Martyna Sabas and Lucia Roth made for our module Group Project. It is a prototype health app brand that really brings a modernised, fun and creative side to this type of brand. My particular work was in the UX/UI design and some other creative outputs of the project.
It all started with us just throwing ideas on to white boards over a space of six months and by the end we filled up over 100 white boards. Our original ideas were very different to our final output due to developments and new ideas over the coming months which involved a lot of user and AB testing. Our brand goals pretty much stayed the same though; getting people motivated to go outside.
Our original ideas were about motivating people to go outside by getting them out to scan QR codes which in return would offer them online rewards. Over the coming months, the ideas would slightly develop into getting people to connect by going on walks together as well as completing in-app quests such as “take pictures in the woods” as well as adding a more social media aspect by having a posting feed page and a gallery for your photos.
We then made the wireframes and prototype on Figma. As the wireframes were being drawn, I started planning out colours, fonts and other designs for the app. I got inspirations from different colour palettes and ideas before we finally agreed on a sunset theme.
